Professional All-Trans Retinol

Know your Retinol Authority.

Induction Therapies didn't discover retinol when it became popular. We built microencapsulated All-Trans Retinol formulas around it, from nightly home care to in-office treatment.

The formulation story

Retinol is an ingredient. Retinol formulation is a discipline.

Y.E.S.S.® pairs encapsulated 1% All-Trans Retinol with trichloroacetic acid and hyaluronic acid. The retinol is the ingredient. Keeping it stable, tolerable, and effective beside an acid is the formulation.

From storage form to active form · select a step

Where we formulate

The alcohol form of vitamin A (C₂₀H₃₀O, 286.46 g/mol). Two oxidation steps from the active form, one reason retinol is better tolerated than retinoic acid.[1][2]

Five variables, one result

What decides how a retinol performs

Y.E.S.S.®
An all-in-one, power-lifting duo: All-Trans Retinol + daily TCA.

Not an ester. Esters need an extra conversion step and carry less retinol by weight. Y.E.S.S.® pairs All-Trans Retinol with trichloroacetic acid in one daily step.[1][2]

Inside the formula

Why we chose microencapsulation before it became a trend

Retinol only works if patients can keep using it. We formulate for retinoid activity and skin tolerance at once.

The molecule

All-Trans Retinol

C₂₀H₃₀O · vitamin A alcohol

"All-trans" describes geometry: four conjugated double bonds in the side chain, all trans. UV and heat can twist them into cis isomers. Pure retinol is pale yellow, so the color of these pads is the retinol.[2]

Pro Plant XO 8.0% pads, yellow with retinol

Stability

More retinol survives to reach the skin.

The science

Retinol is degraded by light, heat, oxygen, and acids. Encapsulation shields the molecule: in one study, encapsulated retinol lasted about nine times longer than unencapsulated retinol.[2][3][4]

Controlled delivery

Released over time, not all at once.

Conceptual illustration of retinol at the skin surface over time, not measured release data.[4]

Tolerability

Less irritation, so patients keep going.

The science

Retinoid irritation is dose-dependent. In studies of encapsulated retinoids, slower release was associated with less irritation.[4]

Progressive exposure

A tolerable start makes progression possible.

The science

Early retinoid irritation is common and often eases with continued use. A tolerable start lets the provider progress care, where appropriate.[1][6]

A percentage is not a performance spec

1% retinyl palmitate is only about 0.55% retinol by weight. And Plant XO at 0.5% / 1.0% for home use versus Pro Plant XO at 4.0% / 8.0% in-office are different tools, not just different strengths.[2]

An example progression

Build tolerance. Build strength. Build results.

A tolerable start makes progression possible. The provider sets the pace, and many patients stay at maintenance long term.

Questions about retinol.

What is All-Trans Retinol?

The alcohol form of vitamin A. Skin converts it to retinaldehyde and then to retinoic acid, the active form. Those two conversion steps are one reason retinol is better tolerated than prescription retinoic acid.

How is retinol different from retinyl palmitate?

Retinyl palmitate is an ester: retinol bound to a fatty acid. It must be converted back to retinol first, and 1% retinyl palmitate is only about 0.55% retinol by weight.

Why is your retinol microencapsulated?

Retinol is degraded by light, heat, oxygen and acids. Encapsulation protects it and releases it over time, and slower release is associated with less irritation.

Which retinol strengths do you offer?

For home care: Plant XO pads at 0.5% and 1.0%, Pearls of Retinol, Y.E.S.S.® and PRX⁸. For professional in-office use only: Pro Plant XO pads at 4.0% and 8.0%.

Is Y.E.S.S.® clinically studied?

Yes. Y.E.S.S.® was evaluated in a 12-week, open-label pilot study in which 21 women completed nightly use. The study design, results and disclosures are linked on this page.

Should retinol be used at night?

Yes. Retinol absorbs UV light, which breaks it down, so apply it in the evening and use broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher every day.

Can my practice private label these retinol formulas?

Yes. We handle formulation, branding, packaging and production in our FDA-inspected facility. Start with the private-label intake form or call 877-746-4407.
